Actuarial Activity With Us

An actuary is a specialist who analyzes the financial effects of risks and applies the methods derived from the conclusions in practice. The actuary uses mathematical and economic knowledge to provide quantified answers to manage the financial effects of risks.

Our Finance and Actuarial team was set up in 2006 to provide a European knowledge hub to support advisors working in AON’s Retirement & Investment division. Initially, we supported the UK, the Netherlands and Switzerland, and today this list extends to countries such as Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, Norway and other Central and Eastern European countries. Over the past years, we have managed to build a team of competent professionals and our goal is not only to stabilise the team, but also to continuously develop our professionalism, expand our services and capabilities, and improve our efficiency.

We do actuarial analytical work, but also in a specific area: the valuation of company benefits, especially pensions. Due to the financial risks arising from the increase in life expectancy, the issue of pension benefits has become a hot topic in the financial world. Multinational companies, which pay contributions on behalf of their employees, are obliged to manage and match pension assets with liabilities to ensure that there are no surprises for either party at retirement. In an ever-changing economic environment, it is particularly important that companies have a better handle on the factors that have a significant impact on the financial side of their pension plans.

Our Job

Our main activities consist of the following tasks:

Data management

Consolidation

Calculation and reporting

Precise definition of assessment parameters

Employee data is managed, formatted, monitored and analysed for changes from year to year.

Using various software and Excel models, we calculate pension fund liabilities, analyse the impact of financial and demographic factors and prepare actuarial reports for our clients.

We consolidate accounting disclosures and reports for multinational clients with global operations.

We are involved in determining and forecasting future financial and demographic valuation parameters, such as the relevant interest, salary growth and mortality rate.

Projects

As well as supporting the work of consultants, we always have the opportunity to get involved in other types of diverse projects:

Branding Team

Its aim is to build and strengthen the division’s employer brand, through both external and internal projects.

Support for foreign offices

Optimisation

We have the power to develop our own systems, tools and processes, which will significantly increase the efficiency of our division.

Data migration

Moving data between interfaces for calculating and reporting on company pension valuations to standardise and improve Global Aon’s systems and our customers’ experience.

Fun Team

Their aim is to bring colleagues closer together by organising quality events.
